This web site has been designed to show you our miniature horses and with a view into farm life on the Falklands. Main Point is located on the North coast of West Falkland. We have a lot of coast line on our farm and think it is a rather beautiful place to live but we could be biased! Main Point Farm is over 17,000 acres. We run around 5000 sheep, mainly of Polwarth breed, which are bred for wool. In recent years it has been possible to sell a few sheep to the abattoir which is another welcome income to farmers. Although our main income is from the wool. We run around 70 cattle, a few of which we milk by hand but they are mainly kept for beef. We also breed and sell Miniature Horses, which we first imported, to the Falklands from England in 1997. We are agents for Dodson & Horrell Ltd and import and sell their animal feed.
After the 1982 Falklands-Malvinas War, the previous and very cooperative relationship between Argentina and the United Kingdom was disrupted. It took several years to reestablish diplomatic relationships, and even more time to institutionalize the diplomatic arrangement known as "sovereignty umbrella," that allows development of joint ventures without even discussing the problem of the Island's sovereignty. All along this process, a three-party dialogue including the Falkland Islanders as full participants has been missing. The Falklands-Malvinas Forum creates a neutral space for the various interested parties to express their views.

Falklands memorial Chapel

The Falklands Memorial Chapel
When the thunder of the guns was finally stilled in and around the Falkland Islands on 14th June 1982, 258 families were left to count the terrible cost. They had lost sons, fathers and husbands in the fierce actions fought at sea, on land, and in the air. More than half the British casualties died at sea; the majority under fierce enemy attack which sank five ships and damaged eight more, some severely. Most of those killed have no grave but the sea. Others died in the fighting on land; many on dark hillsides in night battles. Yet more were killed while flying over land and sea. The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel, located in the south of England has been built in their memory. Let them never be forgotten
